Parents, are you ready? It’s happening this week! Wheeling families can participate in the annual Christmas Giveaway Sign-Up at the House of the Carpenter.

We know the holiday season can be tough. We work with organizations and individuals throughout the Ohio Valley to bring a little more light into your home. And even though we’re still 84 days away from the big day, we need you to sign up early to give us time to make the magic happen.

Details for the 2021 Christmas Giveaway Sign-Up

Come in-person, to the House of the Carpenter on any of these dates:

• Tuesday, October 5
• Thursday, October 7
• Tuesday, October 12
• Thursday, October 14

We will be ready for you between 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. on those days.

Here’s what you need to bring with you

• Your identification
• Social Security Cards – for each member of your household
• Guardianship paperwork (if the child is not yours)
• Working phone number
• Proof of income – for everyone in your household
  • Acceptable proofs include (must have at least one):
    • Pay stubs
    • Tax return
    • Social Security/Disability letter
    • Letter from DHHR
    • Letter from Jobs & Families

This information will make the process go smoothly, and will help us coordinate with other organizations to make sure everyone gets the help they need this Christmas.

But beyond the documents, there are some fun things to make sure you have with you for the Christmas Giveaway Sign-Up!

Before you come to the House of the Carpenter, have a chat with your child. Find out what they want for Christmas. What will delight them come Christmas morning? Our goal is to work with you to make this Christmas extra-special for your kid!

And you can also let us know what size clothes your child wears. That way we can make sure they get some of the things they need as well.
