Program Director
Brief info

Mia Williams is the Program Director at the House of the Carpenter. Mia has been with the HOC since June of 2020. Mia is a graduate and former division one student-athlete from the University of Tulsa. There she completed her basketball career and received her B.A in Communication and Sociology. She currently serves as a basketball official with Ohio and West Virginia High School Athletic Association.

Mia has worked in social services particularly with at risk populations for over ten years. She has strong roots and connection to the Ohio Valley. Mia’s mother was born and raised locally in Bellaire, Ohio and her uncle, Clyde Thomas played for the Wheeling Ironmen. Following his football career, he was the first, and to date, the only African American elected to Wheeling’s City council.

Mia is excited to bring a strong foundation to the HOC where she hopes to connect the community, children and families of the Wheeling Island. Mia’s goal is to provide programming that offers opportunity, faith and fun!
