Help With Immediate Needs
These are our Ministries of Mercy
Are you struggling to put food on the table? Do you need clothes and supplies for yourself or your family? Do you need utility assistance? We’re here for you!
We are dedicated to helping you meet your basic needs. Working with the wider community, we make sure families in Wheeling and the Ohio Valley have what they need to survive.
We know that when our neighbors have the help they need, we are stronger as a community. Together, we ensure that everyone has access to:
- Help with food
- Help for clothing
- Utility Assistance
Each of our services is open to all individuals and families who qualify. We do not discriminate based on race, gender, orientation, religious affiliation, or nationality.

How Our Ministries of Mercy Work
The House of the Carpenter works with multiple community partners to meet the needs of the Upper Ohio Valley.
- We purchase food from Jebbia’s Fruit Market, Riesbeck’s, and the Mountaineer Food Bank.
- Kroger and Wal-Mart send regular donations.
- Scout Troops, churches, and other civic groups conduct drives to stock the pantry and underwear room.
